Telecommunications Law

Belin McCormick represents a number of land line and wireless telecommunications carriers.  The Federal Telecommunications Act of 1996 and Iowa's legislation, enacted in 1995, are both intended, in large part, to bring competition to the local exchange telecommunications markets.  The Firm has been involved in numerous regulatory and court proceedings pertaining to this fundamental restructuring of the telecommunications industry brought about by both state and federal legislation. The Firm has been involved in obtaining certificates of public convenience, a necessity for its clients who are competitive, local exchange carriers, has assisted in filing and obtaining approval of tariffs, has filed complaints objecting to tariffs, has represented clients in arbitration proceedings involving the terms and conditions of interconnection agreements and has handled numerous other matters affecting this complex and rapidly changing industry.
