James R. Swanger

For over 40 years, Jim has represented and defended the interests of employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including practice before the National Labor Relations Board, union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitration and handling strike and picketing matters.

Jim is a shareholder of the firm who defends employers against claims of employment discrimination and wrongful discharge, and regularly counsels the firm’s clients with respect to employment policies such as the ADA and the FMLA, contracts, wage and hour issues, employee handbooks, negotiated separations, non-competition/trade secrets, investigations of employee misconduct, drug testing, OSHA, and the labor and employment aspects of acquisitions and other corporate transactions.  Jim has written and spoken frequently on a wide range of labor and employment issues. Members of the Bar have selected Jim for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of labor and employment law.
