Mitch A. Maahs

Mitch enjoys working alongside clients to navigate complex business transactions from start to finish. He uses his accounting and legal training to spot and solve important issues. He prioritizes client service and believes in providing a combination of effectiveness and efficiency to help clients achieve goals and capitalize on opportunities.

Practice Areas

Mitch represents a diverse group of clients with a focus on corporate and transactional law.  Mitch specializes in mergers and acquisitions and has represented clients of all sizes on complex transactions.  Mitch also assists clients in drafting and negotiating various critical agreements.

Mitch's practice areas include:

  • Representing companies in various industries in mergers and acquisitions, including stock, asset, and merger transactions
  • Assisting clients with formation, day-to-day operation, corporate governance, reorganization and wind-up of business entities
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various business contracts in a broad range of industries
  • Advising clients on taxation issues with respect to entity formation and business transactions

Mitch has also assisted low-income individuals in both federal and state income tax controversies working with the Iowa Legal Aid Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and has prepared tax returns with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Mitch has also passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination.


Mitch is a life-long Iowan, born and raised in Dyersville, Iowa. In his free time, you can find Mitch enjoying live music with his wife, playing outdoors with their lab-mix Rory, exploring the local craft breweries, cheering on the Hawkeyes, and supporting Arsenal FC.
