Ben grew up in Des Moines and lives there with his wife and three children. He is active in his civic and church communities. Outside the office, Ben enjoys spending time with his family, attending Iowa State games and other sporting events, solving crossword puzzles, traveling—particularly to Italy—and studying Italian.

Ben advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial agreements, real estate transactions, and other business matters.
Before joining Belin McCormick, Ben served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edward Mansfield of the Iowa Supreme Court. His clerkship sharpened the careful analysis and clear writing he brings to his work with clients. Ben graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, where he received Faculty Awards for Excellence in Secured Transactions and Commercial Law—Sales. He also advised religious organizations through the transactional section of Notre Dame’s Religious Liberty Clinic.
